No real surprises in Humboldt as the Mohawks comfortably handled the Bears 61-26. The first quarter was interesting as the Bears moved the ball but could not finish any drive. They held the Mohawks off the Board but with 4 minutes left in the first Gerwing hit a wide open receiver on blown coverage for the game's first major. The first quarter ended 7-0. The Bears with very few starters gave up a second td 4 minutes into the second. The convert was wide 13-0. Wynyard had a great chance to get back into game when they recovered a fumble at the Mohawk 20. Unfortunately two plays later Wynyard had their own fumble and the very next play it was 20-0. Two plays later the Mohawk safety picked off Bear's pass returning it for the major 27-0. The Bears starting legs were gone and the Mohawks were able to easily pull away. 41- 0 at the half. The Bears were able to regain some composure and with the Mohawks using some of their Bench the second half was evenly played. Thank you Mohawks and good luck in your pursuit of a second gold. The game was well reffed by Ian Blyth and the rest of the crew. Good luck to all remaining teams.
