The game took place on a frozen field that turned slippery as Lumsden had over an inch of rain on Tues and Wed plus snow on Fri and Sat morning. The two teams each punted on their first drive. On Lumsdens second drive Shylo Neumann busted a 50 yd run for a TD. Delisle came back with their own score with a big pass to slot Steven Sawatsky. 7 to 7 after one. In the second, Delisle earned some great field position on Lumsdens 9. But three straight penalties erased a TD and eventually took them out of scoring position. This proved costly as their punt was returned for a TD by Nic Windrum. 13 to 7 Lumsden. Lumsden scored again on their next possession also with a pass to Joel Mukendi. Lumsden scored once more before the end of the half but it was called back. 21 to 7 Lumsden at half. The third saw a back and forth quarter very even until Mukendi scored his second TD of the game. 28 to 7. Delisle did respond however with a good drive ending with a 1 yd TD run by Matt Spence. 28 to 14 after three. The last quarter was all Lumsden and all Neumann as he scored another two TD. Final score Lumsden 43 Delisle 13. I would like to thank Delisle for a great game. They were great sportsmen and a class act.
