Wynyard travelled to Tisdale today to play their first ever nite game (7 pm kickoff) A great atmosphere and well hosted. The temp was relatively cool with a nasty cross wind. The teams were very evenly matched. Tisdale pinned Wynyard deep early in the first quarter after a booming 50 plus punt by the Tornado punter. Wynyard's O started slowly and decided to give up two. Wynyard took the lead 6-2 after a nice run by their young tailback. The extra point was blotched. Tisdale replied quickly hitting a 70 yard pass and run. Unfortunately for Wynyard their safety blew a tire to leave the tornadoe receiver wide open. This is how the second quarter ended. The third quarter was a stalemate. Any promising drive ended with a turnover. Wynyard got a single point on a missed 25 yd field goal and the score was 8-7. Wynyard finally found the life they needed and a sweep led to their second major. Wynyard elected to go for two and a great second effort dive over a would be tackler gave the Bears a 15-7 lead. Wynyard's d held off the Tornado pass attack and a timely sack pinned the Tornados deep. With less than 3 minutes Wynyard drove inside Tornado 10 but the Tornado d held. Wynyard kicked a 18 yd field goal to make the final score 18-8. The 9 and 10 players then enjoyed a fifth quarter. Thank you Tisdale for putting on a great nite of football. The pizza after the game was greatly appreciated and allowed us to get home before midnite. Good luck in all future games
