Lumsden won 32 to 8 over foam lake. It was a fairly windy day that only made the passing game come out sopratically. Lumsden stopped fl on their first drive giving their off the ball with decent field position. After 2 first downs Lumsden punted but it was blocked giving fl the ball on the Lumsden 30. This was the only momentum fl created though as the Devils D stopped fl on a third down gamble. Lums responded with a 93 yd drive resulting in a TD rush by shylo Neumann . 7 nothing. The devils D forced a punt on fl next drive and again the Lumsden scored another rushing TD by Joel Mukendi. 13 - 0.The second quarter was the same story as the devil D was inpenetrible and the offence scored twice more with a rushing TD by Danon Weisbrod and a receiving TD by Joel Mukendi. 25 nothing at half. The second half was all defense with no TDs in the third quarter. The fourth quarter saw the teams swap TDs with Lumsden qb Jesse Kearly hooking up with Adam Gibson early in the quarter. F L TD came late with a minute left when Keifer Hawerluk rushed in for the Panthers only score. Due to a previously conceded safety the final score was 32 to 8. lumsdens D was highlighted by sacks from Matt Forbes Preston Scott Brett Burns and Josh Taylor. Adam McEwen had a key interception in the third to keep that quarter scoreless. And Kelsey Peterson Mason Ermel and Nic Windrum were all over 8 tackles a piece. Lumsden now gets ready to host the provincial 9 man final on Saturday Nov 14 when their conference rival the Swan Valley Tigers from Swan River MB come to town. I would like to thank Bill, Garth and Nevon for a great game and great hospitality. Foam Lake always has a great playoff atmosphere and the players and coaches showed great sportsmanship.
